FAQs for Restaurant Lighting

RGBW bespoke made arc led lights and ring lights installed on a wall as a statement piece within a restaurant.

What colour temperature is best for restaurants and bars?

2700K to 3000K warm white is the most common choice for restaurants, cafes and bars. The warm tone flatters food, drink and skin tones, and creates an inviting, intimate atmosphere that encourages diners to stay longer than the cooler temperatures used in retail or offices.

What CRI should restaurant lighting have?

Restaurants, bars and cafes should aim for a colour rendering index of at least Ra 90 in dining areas, which renders food, drink and skin tones accurately. Lower CRI lighting can make food look washed out, which directly affects guest perception of quality. Many of Linear Lights products have a colour rending index of Ra 90. Our lighting design team create you a lighting design using products that offer Ra 90.

How should restaurant lighting change between day and evening?

Restaurant lighting should be dimmable so it can be brighter and more functional during the day and softer and more intimate in the evening. Contact us for dimmable lighting.
