Full Description

Part of the Flow linear lighting system, this extra long slim linear light gives you a 2.5m continuous run of soft, even light from a 35mm x 35mm profile.

Supplied as two 1250mm sections with a connection pack included. The sections join on site to form one continuous line, with a continuous diffuser across the join and a single driver for the full length, so you wire one power feed exactly as you would with a shorter fitting.

Supplied with the driver and ready to install suspended on 2m wires. Choose daylight 4000K for offices, workplaces and libraries, or warm white 3000K for hotels, hospitality, retail and restaurants. At 2.5m it suits open plan office runs, long reception desks, corridors and bar fronts where a shorter fitting would look under-scaled.

Product FAQs

How are the two sections joined, and will the join be visible once installed?

The two 1250mm sections connect using the included connection pack, joined during installation by a qualified electrician as part of a normal fitting process with no specialist tools required. The flexible silicone diffuser is continuous across the connection, so light output stays even along the full 2.5m with no dark gap or bright spot at the joint. Both sections run from a single driver, which matters more than it might first appear. Two separate drivers can produce a subtle difference in output or dimming response between halves of a run, particularly noticeable on a long straight line at eye level. A single driver removes that risk entirely and means one power feed to wire rather than two. Because the sections are cut to match, profile alignment is precise rather than something you adjust on site.

Should I specify 3000K or 4000K for a 2.5m linear run?

Choose 4000K for offices, workplaces, libraries, education and any space where people are working at a task for long periods. Choose 3000K for hotels, hospitality, retail, wellness spaces, restaurants and bars, where the priority is a warmer, more relaxed feel.

At 2.5m the choice matters more than it does on a short fitting, because a long continuous run puts a large area of light into the space and sets the character of the whole room rather than lighting one zone. Colour temperature is set at manufacture rather than switchable on site, so it is worth deciding at specification stage. Both sections of the light are built and supplied to the same specification, so there is no risk of a mismatch between the two halves once joined. If you are running several fittings in the same space, or matching a run to existing lighting, keep the colour temperature consistent across all of them. Mixed colour temperatures in one open area are one of the most common causes of a scheme looking wrong once it is installed.

The fitting delivers 960 lumens per metre, so a full 2.5m run produces around 2,400 lumens downwards at a 120 degree beam angle. That is the right output for feature and ambient lighting, and it is not enough to light a general office space on its own. Flow is a slim architectural fitting rather than a high output workhorse. Over a reception desk, a bar front, a meeting table or a corridor it gives you a clean, continuous line of light and a comfortable level of illumination for that zone. For an open plan office where you need to meet the 500 lux maintained level on the working plane set out in BS EN 12464-1, you would use several runs across the space, or combine Flow with a higher output fitting and let Flow do the architectural work. Send us your room dimensions, ceiling height and layout and our in-house lighting designers will produce a lux calculation at no charge, so you know exactly what you will achieve before you order.

How much light does the 2.5m Flow Slim produce, and will it light an office on its own?
